What is your absolute favorite paper to print onto? A card stock?? What brand??

I don't have an Epson printer, but I just recently discovered Epson Presentation Paper, Matte.

It's 44lb, so it's just fabulous for printing cards and it doesn't suck the color out of my images like card stock does - so vibrant and clean! I love it!

The package says it's guaranteed to perform beautifully on all inkjet printers - my HP has never looked so good!

Well, I just got a new printer (after seeing the demo at Photoshop World) and it's an Epson R1900 so I haven't gotten much paper for it yet. Have to use the old stuff, you know.

I have one box of Epson Premium Photo Paper Glossy. The old stuff is Ilford Galerie Smooth Gloss Paper and Smooth Pearl Paper. We also have quite a bit of Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy in the smaller sizes.

I do believe in using the same brand of paper as the printers. I rarely print on cardstock but use Stampin Up when I do. I'll be interested in seeing what everyone else uses. I'd like to try some metalic.

I tend to like a semi gloss or satin, if the company brand makes that kind.

do you mean printing photo's? or cards or ?

for Photopaper I'm using Henzo 220gr./m2 I prefer this to the Canon paper which is recommended for my computer.

cards/hybrids I use any cardmaking cardstock , sometimes smooth sometimes hammered or linen. they all work.

I use Red River papers exclusively. They are manufactured in Dallas, TX and come in a wide variety of finishes and sizes. I am absolutely in love with their Polar Satin and their linen finish. The Polar Satin is a 66 lb. matte finish cool tone photo paper. It prints beautifully; from what y'all have said, I think it sounds comparable to the Epson presentation. They have a canvas that is fabulous for specialty printing. I used a fair bit of it for Christmas presents.

They will provide ICC profiles for their papers on the web site for HP, Epson and Canon printers. Service is excellent with same day shipping. (Yes, I KNOW I sound like an advert!) If you are interested, check out the web site....
www.redriverpaper.com (http://www.redriverpaper.com) They also have a very generous sample package for US$14.00 that is around 50 sheets of everything they make. Unlike most sample packages, it is all useable, without watermarking. (No, they don't pay me! :rofl2:)

That paper sounds wonderful. I'll have to give it a try.

I use HP paper since both our printers are HP models. For cards and photos I like the matte rather than high gloss.

I agree with you on the matte, Phyllis. It does look great, doesn't it? I was going through my Red River sample pack, and the paper weights run from 32# to 75#....and the finishes run from glossy to satin to matte; canvas finish, linen finish, metallic finish..and everything in between.

For 14.00, you really don't have anything to lose by getting it. Do some printing and make notes on which you like best and which you don't!

I use that same paper for my greeting cards. Epson Premium Presentation Paper - Matte Double Sided. #S041568 - 47 lb 9.7 mil.

No matter what brand you use, make sure you get double sided matte coated cardstock for your greeting cards.

It's the matte coating that does the trick. It keeps the ink on top instead of wicking through the fibers of bond paper or cardboard. You can get pretty decent results from any quality matte paper because of the fact that the coating keeps the ink from wicking.

I buy the lighter Epson matte paper for everyday letter writing (yes, I do write letters to some non-email people ) - I use it because I like the crisp text and I'm always adding photos to my letters, so the matte coating helps my photos look great.

I stick to the Epson papers because it matches my R1900 printer, but I've heard really good things about Red River from my BIL.

I do know the HP everyday paper sucks - it's thin and nothing looks nice coming out of my printer - it even makes my coupons look bad. I made the mistake of buying some when I figured - for everyday use - it wouldn't much matter. BUT IT DOES. At least to me.

Red River Papers, Costco's Photo papers, and Epson Presentation Matte finish papers.
Depends ENTIRELY on the project! Print on Epson, and HP printers, four various models! Like the Epsons the best and always set the printer for PHOTOSHOP manages color!

This has turned into quite a discussion, hasn't it? Paper, like printers, polarizes people rather quickly! Lella....5 days to Ontario is amazing! And here I was, thinking that next day shipping to where I am (a mere 125 mi. north of Dallas) was spectacular.

As long as we're on this subject....Red River also has a complete line of fine art papers. Just another plug. If I like a product, I'll plug it! cheers1
