reinstalled windows - too many glitches - wanted to clean house

Hope I was thorough in my transfer of "stuff" to my EHD. ;)

So far, I can't get my web pages to open up full sized even though I tried the old - close them at full sized and they should open back up at full sized.

I hate when I can't fix simple things like this. And McAfee keeps offering unsolicited advice. It says the program runs "quietly" in the background, but it's like an old busy body - sticking it's nose in all my business. I hate security software.

BTW - I bought my first lap top. Wanted it for the car trip to FL. It's an HP. Seems OK so far.

It would be nice to start over with a new fresh Laptop. I've been 'cleaning' off my 'desk' for 2 days now. Still not finished. Have fun in Florida! We're going to South Padre soon. Can't wait.

Oh Janice when I saw the thread topic, my first reaction was "OH, NO!!" But I now see you have done it on purpose. Hopefully you'll have everything up and running properly very soon. The new laptop sounds great.

Oh Janice, I love reading your adventures.
What an exciting time.
Congratulations on the new laptop.

My windows 7 still is not installed. Our friend is out of town.
I keep saving and resaving...plus I keep buying and scrappin' and take pictures.

I was having the same problem and after searching for hours on the Internet I found a solution. Open your window and resize it. Hold down the shift key when you close the window. It should reopen at full size. I also read that if shift doesn't work, try ctrl. Mine worked with shift but I'm on Vista. Give it a try.

Thanks for the tip, but holding down shift or control or alt did nothing for me. I tried resizing manually and closing using all three methods - and I tried maximizing then closing using all three methods.

I know there is a way to beat this, but....

PS - I have Windows 7

Janice, you're a brave soul. I'll just buy a new computer before I try reinstalling an OS!

Goood luck, Janice, on your desktop. I did that last fall, and have put most everything on external HD's. Photos on 1. kits on another, and one passport for my lap top. Also have one for odds and ends. Just programs on my c drive.
Enjoy your new laptop!! :)
