I have some free Textures and Patterns that I downloaded from the internet, but how do I get them in CS5?
I believe I also have ASE extension files that I don't know how to get into CS5 either. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Julie,
What OS are you using? Mac or PC?

Sorry we didn't see this question sooner Julie.
One of the easiest ways to load patterns (PAT files) and color swatches (ASE or ACO files) is to choose Preset Manager from the Edit menu. Choose the appropriate type from the drop down menu, then click load and navigate to where you have stored the files. Once you have loaded them, the pattern and swatch files will be available to use.
You don't need to load "texture" files - just open the jpg and pull it in as a layer in your PSD and then use blend modes and opacity settings to alter a paper, element or photo.
Does that help?

I don't load color swatches either; I keep them all in a folder and load them when I want them.
