Hello everyone

I had a very nice time at the conference in Cardiff, Wales. What a beautiful city. I did take some photos but really missed my DSLR.

However when I returned my son, Steven and DIL, Shona (married in May) came round to say that they are EXPECTING A BABY in February!

We are all thrilled to bits, it is taking bit of time to sink in, but was the first thing I thought about when I woke this morning. Will keep you posted.

They certainly do, they only got married in May and live right next door in a trailer home as they are planning to build a house!

I'll add my congrats here too! Don't be surprised if your grandchild comes up with their own name eventually. We were always "Grandma" and "Grandpa" until our grandson turned 4 and then he started calling us "Grams" and "Gramps." None of us know why or where he got that.. but that's we we are... and we love it!

I know Karen, you are so right. My eldest named my Dad 'Bumpy' and my mum 'Mum-mum', became a bit embarassing to them when they reached their late teens so they started to call them by their own names!

I just saw this, Janice! I couldn't be more pleased if it were me! My own DGS is 16 now, but I still remember the thrill of that "big news". It can still warm my heart. As I have often said, if I had known how much fun it is to be a grandma, I would have skipped right over being a mum and gone right to grandma! :rofl2:

To get (nearly) serious....my DGS and I have a very special bond, and I think most grands can say the same thing. You are in for such wonderful times. And again, I am brimming with joy for you!
