Many of you know I've been brushing up on my roofing skills. Actually I didn't have any skills but I do now!
"Pops" is 84 years old and his roof was bad on one side of the house. He doesn't have much money and is on oxygen. So Herbie and I put on a new roof for him. We started July 1st and got done today! We still have some clean-up left but that seems minor now. My hands were so tarred that I felt like I was tarred and feathered yesterday. I have no fingertip skin left and I ache like the dickens. There is no one happier than me and Herbie to be done with it! Last night, it rained like the dickens and no leaks!!!
If any of you need roof work done, please don't call us! We are no longer in business!

Wow- girlfriend. you are my idol. I can't do heights...step one, and the heat y'all have had..step 2.
Congratulations.

Our roof is good, but we've got some weeds that need pulling, Sandy!

Sandy, you and Herbie are awesome! I've never been on the roof and I don't like extremely hot weather--I know I couldn't put on a new roof.

No leaks? Sounds like a job well done! Ya know, if you have no fingerprints left you could always go into 'safe cracking'!! :rofl2:
