We don't.

Southeastern Wisconsin got 8 inches of rain in a four hour period - 6 of it in less than an hour.

All the streets around town are flooded and I don't even want to think about the people's basements.

Last Wednesday, we got 5 inches.

And yes, this is very, very, very unusual for us.

The weather guys said we got four 100-year floods in the last 25 years.

Guess they need to change the name to 6.25 year floods.

We are in the middle of winter here Janice and have had one of our driest Junes on record and July is looking like it will be the same.

That is a lot of rain.
Hoping things hold off here for a least a few more days.
Don't want that tropical storm to churn up the gulf.

Yes, every time I hear about a storm near the gulf, I get worried. I sure hope that cap holds for good. Such a devastating situation.

Wow, that is a lot of rain in such a short period. Hope the rain holds off so things can dry out a bit.

Two houses are teetering on the brink of falling into a sinkhole

An SUV fell into a different sinkhole last night.

My first thought? "Does my insurance cover sinkholes?"

Plus, they are predicting 1 to 3 inches of rain today.

And the other thing that crossed my mind? I'm glad I'm renting. The sinkhold problems are not out here in my community, but the people in the city of Milwaukee must all be afraid of instability - especially when they are predicing more rain tonight.

The airport was closed most of the day, the runways are covered with water.

Wanna see a street become a river

Sink holes are very scary! crossing fingers, y'all stay ok where you are.
We had rain earlier. It's stopped for the time being. We have DGS visiting, and hopefully we can get him back outside.

Oh my, that's quite a video!! We could use some of that water here in the desert but not the whole thing. We have been in 100's since end of June. Today is 113. There are only two things wrong with Mesquite,NV: July and August!! :D

Oh, bless your heart! I could not imagine...not even with "dry" heat...

We ended up lucky! After the rains yesterday,(tropical Bonnie-- we had BIG wind and super surf!!!! kinda scary actually, but we did fine. I took lots of pics.
Now I need another kit.. I am thinking Sandy's new one about the beach called 'Maritime'.;)

My folks live in SD and they've had so much rain the past several months the water table has risen to the point that when someone digs a post hole they hit water. We had 9.5" over the 4th weekend, (kinda ruined the celebrating)

I has rained overnight here - not a lot but it is a start. Just hope it has rained at home! I was going to go for a walk this morning and see if the kangaroos were out on the golf course but I'm not going in the rain!

The weather has been hot, hot, hot! Very little rain. Hot is hot whether it is dry heat or not but ours has been humid.

That is some rush of water Janice! Stay safe and don't sink!
