Did you know you can make the thumbnails in the layer pallet bigger? This is especially useful if the element you are working on is very small.
The easier way to do this is to open a new document of any size and add a new, blank layer.
Right click in the empty space BELOW the layer - anywhere in the blank pallet area is fine - and choose from small, medium or large icons from the pop up menu.

Yes, I like large thumbnails. Is there any way to make the layer names any larger. I find the layer names difficult to read in PSE 8.

LanaSue...if you will check out the preferences, you will see an option under "Interface" for UI font size. You have choices for the font size from small to large. (Edit>Preferences). You can change the font size that displays for your program there. For the change to take effect, you will have to restart PSE.

Traci, I cannot find Interface in Preferences for PSE 8. The only thing I have found in under Type>Font Preview Size, and that is to view the fonts when using the Type Tool.

LanaSue...you are absolutely right and I am absolutely WRONG! :o I haven't used PSE in so long that I forgot that the UI text size is what it is and the user can't change it. I'm sorry that I misspoke. It is only in Photoshop that you can change the size of the user interface text.
I stand covered with shame! Maybe Karen knows of a way to increase the size of the interface font....but I do not.

Dear Traci, not to worry. You are a guru in my eyes! I do miss working with PS, but alas, finances are such a pain. Wish Adobe would reduce the price of PS. But, I did purchase Elements+ plug-in for PSE 8 from Andrei Doubrovski. It unlocks many additional features from the underlying PS. I'm having fun playing with it.
