Today, is a day for celebrating....In case some of you was wondering where I have been for the past few weeks. Last month I was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma. The tumor was located on my left kidney and needed to be removed. I had the surgery and the outcome was ALL the cancer was removed, and I still have 1/2 of my left kidney. I went to the doctors on Monday for a follow up visit and he said I do not need any radiation or chemo treatments. The cancer was encapsulated, so it was easy peasy to remove! I need to do follow up testing for a few years, but that will be a piece of cake, right now I just need to rest and heal for the next month and then I can return to work and play here at the Den......
BTW..... For those who were fussing with me about not resting.... I've been released to drive and get groceries!!!!!!! as long as I take someone with me.party5
So today I will celebrate, not only my birthday, also for being cancer free!!!!cheers1

I'm so proud of you for sharing girlfriend! It probably is in the back of our minds that it could happen to us and you are living proof that there is life after cancer! I have been so proud of you knowing about this as to how well you handled everything. I can only imagine the shock, the worry and the pain. But you are indeed a trooper and our first Den cancer survivor! Congratulations on being cancer free and a big happy birthday! Do you want me to sing to you again???

Andrea, I'm new here and don't know you but my heart is reaching out to you with more joy than you could ever imagine!!!! Twenty five plus years ago my oldest daughter went through the exact same thing!! And needed no chemo or anything else. She has lived a full and wonderful life on less than one kidney and never had another bit of trouble since her operation. She still goes for a yearly check up but that's all. I can't wait to tell her the good news about you!!!! Sending you HUGH HUGE HUGS!!!!!!!!!
