Can you tell I am a little excited. I am so happy to be hosting this challenge that I am getting it up a little early.

Here is how it works. I will post three layouts. You will take a piece of each layout and incorporate them into a new layout. It can be any part of the layout, the title, the matting, the placement of photos and elements...anything you like. When posting your LO please let us know which part of the LO you lifted and be sure to leave credit in the gallery once it is up and running. We would love it if you used Digital Design Den kits, but it is not required.

Since the gallery isn't up and running yet I will start this out with three layouts from my CT members. Next month I will be picking layouts from the gallery. Post your layouts back here in this thread and then post in the gallery once it is up and running.

Clear as mud? Any questions let me know. I will come back here and post a sample later.

Oh yeah, and what do you get for participating? At the end of the month I will do a random drawing for a $5 coupon to my store.

Can't wait to see your creations.

The layouts below were created with my kit Manly Men (http://digitaldesignden.com/xcart/product.php?productid=1741&cat=0&page=1) available right here at the Den.

This LO was created by Whit:

So here is my take on the triple lift.

I really like the way Whit layered her paper and how she clustered her elements down the left side of the photo.

I really like the circle elements in Di's layouts and her paper blocking.

I really liked how Christine put her photo on top making it more of a focus and layering the larger elements underneath. I also liked how she cluster her elements in the corner of the photo.

Oh yeah, and kit credits: Funky Expressions (http://digitaldesignden.com/xcart/product.php?productid=1695&cat=0&page=1) from DSD by Athena found right here at DDD!

Here is the final LO.

OK, this was fun! I liked the layered papers on the first one with one tilted. I liked that the second one had the photo and cluster anchored on the left. The third one has a great cluster with items on top of the photo and below so I used that idea.
This is elements from Athena's Color Splash Black... in the Store and papers from Robyn's All About Glass (from the "other" Den) I recolored the pink one to match the bride's colors in her wedding. In the gallery here (http://www.digitaldesignden.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=15&cat=500).

I have posted my tiple lift layout (http://www.digitaldesignden.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=22&cat=509)in the gallery for this fun challenge! Yea!
I like the stacked frames and the layered backgrounds in the first layout, the clusters and the circle graphic in the second one and the clustering in all three.
I used Marci's kit - Color My World kit for this layout.

I really like how you matched the colors of his art work with all the elements. The stacked frames are great.

Please click on the above link to go to the gallery image. Could not get the image to even show up here in the thread, let alone to make it clickable!

This is my entry for the Triple Lift challenge. I lifted the layered background papers idea from Whit's layout; the clustering from Di's layout; and the "offset photo" from Christine's layout.

I used Ellie's Garden Mischief kit and the font is "Happy."

Well Athena your bubbling over spread to me. I could not wait to do this till I came back. So here is my take (http://www.digitaldesignden.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=36&cat=509)...

Using parts from the triple lift from Whit I used the multi paper layer, from Di I used the mats and ribbon, and from christine I used the stitching. I aslo used the clustering option from all.

Athena, I have a question. You said the LOs do not have to use kits from DDD. The gallery rules state 50% of the LO must be from DDD kits. Does this rule apply to this challenge and ALL challenges?

I don't want to be the first one to get in trouble!!!

Laura

I just changed that. You won't get in trouble if you don't use some DDD as long as you play! We want you to play! busy1

DGD and her friend have SUCH a wonderful time with their DSI on the Fourth of July. NO names on web-copy--font I used was Papyrus for this. Elements were by Pam Lefors, mesh by Laura Boetto, Sketch art by Paulette of TLC, and frames were by Tezza blog gifts for this years' 4th of July. We went to a hilltop restaurant with this friend's grandparents overlooking the fireworks and the Mesquite valley. Here we're waiting for the fireworks!

I need a little 'kick start'. What would be my first step in lifting elements from the LO's? Do I move them into a folder and actually use parts from there? How would I 'lift' parts from an already finished piece?

Reene, lifting just means that someone else's layout gives you ideas or inspires you for your own layout. If you look in the Triple Lift gallery, you'll see what I mean.

pssequimages
07-12-2010, 10:44 PM
You did that thumb-link just GREAT,ladies. Reene, the way I did this challenge was to copy a design idea, or an element, or a font, or something in a layout that I saw in the gallery--and then I used three DIFFERENT designers (or more) to put something together. Is this what we're supposed to do? Athena what did you want us to do? We'll give it a go!

athena
07-12-2010, 11:58 PM
You should actually be lifting your ideas from the layouts I posted at the beginning of the thread. If you look at my post (http://digitaldesignden.com/forum/showpost.php?p=294&postcount=8) you will see I listed each piece of the layouts that inspired me to create my own layout.

Hope this makes it more clear.

Reene

Sorry, I must admit I take things a little too literal!. I guess I have been 'lifting' all along as I do try to copy some great LO's that catch my eye. There are some very talented people here in the Den.
