Well I'm running a bit behind today and I'm sorry for the delay, but without any further complications here is your challenge.

I saw this font on Dafonts and thought it would make a great stamped looking font. For this challenge you must use this the font Dirtybag (http://www.dafont.com/dirtybag.font) in your layout in someway.

You can go here (http://www.dafont.com/dirtybag.font) to download it. The font is free for personal use only and everyone must download it themselves.

Here is a layou (http://www.digitaldesignden.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=549&title=cape-may-page-1&cat=506)t I did using Dirtybag in my title. (The kit will be coming to a store near you soon.)

http://www.digitaldesignden.com/photopost/data/506/060509-Cape-May-1v2.jpg

Attached is the preview for your prize which is an addon to my newest kit Garden Delights (http://digitaldesignden.com/xcart/product.php?productid=1865&cat=0&page=1). It is also on sale for the next week.

I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Karen I will certainly have scottie beam it back, but I think it needs to make a few stops on the way. So I'll send it off to Diane now and if she could forward it to Lella. Then Lella can send it back to you. Now don'lt take too long with it girls as Karen needs it back to finish my challenge. :D

I'm happy to see that everyone likes the font I chosed.

When I downloaded this font, the filename is DIRTYBAG__.otf. What type of font is this. Most of my fonts are .ttf. I'm unable to view a preview of the .otf font.

For the life of me, I cannot get this font to work. Is there something about the .otf that's keeping it from working in PSE8-Win7? Never have problems with fonts, otherwise.

Sorry Karen I did'nt realize your cap would be so popular. Guess we are all in a bit of a pickle. LOL.

Lana I'm not sure why you can not see O type fonts. Are you loading it where all of your other fonts go? OR do you keep them in a separate folder? I have windows and can see O type fonts without an issue.

Marcie, I keep all my downloaded fonts in a separate folder. Whenever I want to use one of these fonts, I open ACDSee before opening PSE. This allows me to use any of my downloaded fonts.

Okay I wonder if Acdsee is having a problem with it? I too keep my fonts in a separate folder. What if you made a copy and put it in the windows font folder? See if it will work in pse 8.

How do you work with fonts kept in a separate folder? I would prefer leaving them there, rather than placing them in the Windows Fonts folder. I'll have to check into whether or not ACDSee recognizes Open fonts.

Normally when my program called the font thing is working, I open that and it will temporarily load them in the windows font folder. Then when I'm finished with that font, I uncheck it and it removes it. It is alwasy in my separate folder though.

I was thinking for this challenge you could personally load it, and then go in and remove it since you know what it is called. Let me know then if acdsee does not reconized o type fonts. I've just gotten that program and did not realize it did that. Still learning.

Hey Lana, I just checked with Michi as she has pse 8 and windows. She also has pse 6. She too uses acdsee the same way you do. She has no problems in seeing the font at all. I wonder if your download was not correctly done. Have you tried redolwnloading?

I have downloaded Dirtybag several times, always with the same results in ACDsee. I have contacted ACDsee tech support via email. Should hear from them soon.

I don't have any problems with .ttf fonts, just this .otf font. The 3rd one is the .otf font. Michi, if you have any suggestions, too, let me know.

Hi there, As I was not paying good attention to Marcie last night on the blackberry and watching baseball...[sorry about that]:o

I believe ACDSee is for ttf fonts.

To use this one:
Open the folder where you have the font stored.
Double click it so you see: The quick brown fox...over and over..
Then minimize that screen.
Open pse
Open your document
Click -Type tool, and it will be in there in the drop down list.

Just checked with pse: 6, 8 and Cs5 (all worked).

When you close out your min. font window, it goes away.

I am not quite done with my LO, but my text is in place. So when I open it back up, I get a message box stating font is not there, which ok, as I do not plan to edit it.

Michi, I tried the above (minimizing the font) three times, and it does not work for me. I made sure PSE was closed before following the directions. Then opened PSE. It never appeared in the font list. I wonder if there is some setting in PSE that I need to click. Are you using Win7?

I installed the font, and it works fine. But I would rather not install downloaded fonts. Not sure what the problem is with this particular font.

I know you were trying not to do that and I'm sorry you had to do that. I guess support had no answers either for you. It is a good font and a shame you have to install it to use it, and then remove it when you are done. Maybe you could make an alpha sheet with it and save that with the actual font. They you could just copy and past the letters on.

The Yarloop Workshop is a huge complex which catered for the local mill and all its ancillary activities. Most of the complex is rusty and dusty but very interesting despite this. Once the original machinery came to Yarloop, all repairs and maintenance was carried out at the workshop. This included making replacement parts for any of the machinery that was used at the mill and at the workshop.
