A lot of you probably know about it---but I didn't!!!! How many know about the "extra" clock you can utilize right on your screen to keep track of time in another part of the world?????
It's available on Vista and Windows 7----sorry XP users, its not on XP. http://www.browniescraps.com/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif
Most chats, etc are in EST and I am in EST so I don't need it for that, but I see a LOT of posts from gals who are confused about the time in another part of the world, and trying to figure out what time (their time) they should be somewhere on line. Most gals I've talked to use it to let them know what time a chat starts in THEIR time.
I don't want to do a tut. if you all know about it, but if there are those that don't, I'll be glad to give instructions. I didn't know about it!!!! Well, until now that is!!!http://www.browniescraps.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif No more having to go to a time converter----you just click on your screen!!!

OK, so let me put what I learned right here. Like I said, a lot of you probably already knew this, but I didn't and I think its so neat!! I REALLY have to get a Windows 7 instruction book!!!!! :o)

1. Go to the lower right hand corner of your computer (if you have Vista or Windows 7) and click on the time.

2. A window will appear with a clock on it. Click on the bottom where it says "Change time and settings"

3. At the top of the next window that appears, look at the headings at the top and click on "ADDITIONAL CLOCKS"

4. You now have a window where you can add up to two more clocks showing the time anywhere in the world. So for the first clock, make sure the little box that says "show clock" is checked.

5. Then under "Select Time Zone" you choose the area where you want to know the time----not YOUR time, but another area. So if you are in Australia, and you want to always know the corresponding time in the Eastern Time Zone of America, thats the time zone you would pick.

6. Then under "Enter Display Name" add what this clock is for. Is it so you can keep track of chat times? Type in "Chat Times". Mine is set to Pacific time because I have a lot of relatives out there and I am in EST. Well actually EDT right now.
Now click OK.

Now all you have to do anytime you want to see the difference in that time zone from your time zone, just click on the time in your lower right hand corner, and BOTH clocks will appear! You can add up to 2 clocks.

This is so cool! I still have XP and it doesn't do anything like that. My laptop has Vista so I will have to check it there! Thanks Nancy!

Yes, unfortunately they didn't add this until Vista, so XP users don't have this little goodie!!!

Janice and Ellen if you are using Firefox as your browers, there is FoxClocks (Ctrl+Shift+Q) which you can set for different time zones. I have CST (USA), PST (USA), EST (AUS) and GMT showing across the bottom of my browser.

It is an add-on, so you need to go to Firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=foxclocks&cat=all&lver=any&pid=1&sort=&pp=20&lup=&advanced=) to download it.

Pleasure is mine Nancy. It is amazing what we learn when one person asks a simple question - everyone else comes up with other things to try.

I don't have Windows but I've got one on my Mac. Got to keep track of the time in Australia and the US so I don't call the girls in the middle of their night! :D

They wouldn't love me for that...but then, they've done it to me! :D
