PSE 8 Quotation Marks

HELP! I'm working on a LO for my friend and the quotation marks are not working. I have Smart Quotes checked in Preferences (always have), but no matter what font I use, here's what I get for the quotation marks:

«We love you Mom!»


I have already closed down/restarted PSE.

Lana..I have PSE8 and I just opened a blank doc and tried using quotation marks and it works fine... Have you tried to reset the type tool?

Janice, I don't know if this will help b-u-u-t-t it could be worth a try. With the "T" tool selected, you should be able to see a dark, small down widget to the left of the name of the font - left click and a little box will drop down, click on "reset tool".

Andrea, thank you so much. That worked! I tell you, I didn't even know there was a down widget to the left of the Type Tool. The PSE BG is so dark, I find it very difficult to see the widgets. Doesn't seem to matter if I have the BG set to dark or light; both are very difficult to see.

Your welcome...Glad to be of help! I don't care for the dark bg either!!!!! Guess you kinda get use to it!
