Ladies,
I need some help.... I have always been using PaintshopPro (X3 now) since I started digiscrapping. Now I am thinking of getting Photoshop Elements as a (birthday) gift to myself. ;) I have downloaded a trial version to see what the differences are....but I just do not know where to start in PSE....
One thing I did notice was the easier use of templates in PSE ('cause it opens in layers ;)).....but the more I know my way around in PSP, so much trouble I have finding my way in PSE.... Is there anyone who can, and would like to help me? smilie-love029

I can try to help.
Now, I don't have psp, but I have listened in on several psp videos, and I seem to follow them along rather well.
(I've been asked to test for psp...just do not have a program, yet).
IF, you have a specific 'thing' you wish to do, post and I'm sure this wonderful den family will jump right in and assist.

Thanks!!!! If I come accross a specific "problem"/thingy I will let you know!
Karen was so nice to help me with it too, through her manual....so I should be getting there, I hope. But since you all made me feel so welcome, I know I can ask anything here, well almost anything :D

Ask away...happy to help.
**Just thought of a tip, once given to me by Wendy Williams...
when learning a new program, put the other one away. Close it,
don't touch it, or rely on it. This way you will learn the new one.
It made me nervous and took me out of my comfort zone, but she
was right.

She was absolutely right!!!! And as I open PSE8 I leave PSP closed....but then I have to keep searching and searching and get grumpy :o.....and then will close down PSE8 and start PSP or close down the laptop in totall :o:rofl2:
But with the help of you all, I'm sure I will get there, or decide to stay with PSP....time wil tell. ;)

When I upgrade to a new version, I am confused and end up going back and forth between the two versions for a couple of months before settling down and using only the new version. Although I still have PSE4, 5 ,6 & 7 installed on computers here at home and down at the Telecentre I have to use PSE7!! They did upgrade to PSE8 but only for the computers that I use for the course and not for the two admin machines.

I also have two versions of PSE (6 and 8) and I don't have the same actions in each.
PSE8 has more fonctions, but PSE6 was a great version for Mac, not the 8 which quit regularly.
So sometimes I open PSE6, sometimes PSE8, it depends on the actions I want to run.

That sound very reasonable to me Elisabeth. You have the best of both worlds.

I have used PSP for many years (since v 5) and I think I am right in saying that it has greater capability than PSE. However, there are so many resources available for PSE, that PSP users sometimes feel a bit left out. I have an old v of PSE- and can use it, but hardly ever do. Not sure if that helps.

It makes me wonder if I even need to take the step to PSE.....so it makes me even doubt more, but that's okay! I like to here from people at both sides. ;) So thanks!!!

You will find that PSE has come a long, long way since the early versions but to each his own. I have not used anything but PSE, so I am biased [grinning]
