I'll start out by posting a small portion of a pic for you to guess what the larger pic might be. Whoever guesses it will post the next one for us to guess. So...

What is it?

Yippee, yippee - of course I wouldn't have got it without that "in or on" clue! I'll check around for another photo to put up, but since I'm not a photographer I may have to let someone else do it. Be back in a bit with a little snip, I hope!

All good guesses! Miss Pepper, your guess sounds soooo good--but NOT!!
One of Ellen's guesses is 'just a little' on target; but Vicky's is the closest (SORT OF!).

OK, now for the hint. Hmmm....this is harder that posting the picture....without giving anything away!

Awww, Vicki, how come you have to suggest this when I have to figure out how to do all this complicated stuff (cutting out insets, figuring out how to post the pic, etc......:rofl2:).

All kidding aside, I will do that if the above hints don't help. So please repeat that request if you want me to still do it.

P.S. And, Priss, I LOVE your imagination!!

Also, sorry I took so long to reply--was out a good part of the day yesterday and didn't get much computer time!

Me?? Off track????? Surely you jest. I know, I know ... don't call you Shirley.

So Ellen is sorta on the right track and I was sorta right. It's NOT a plaster cast of a cow udder???

Yes, it is bigger than a breadbox (you're a riot and a half, Vicki!!!) - unless it's a really huge breadbox!!!!!!

I give up... the base of a statue and something alive how does that go together? a wax model in Madam Tussauds?

I am SO terrible at giving clues (without giving it away). You are on the right track, Ellen, with the first part (except for the 'base') and it's not alive, it just depicts something that is alive--and this photo is part of the body of the live thing. (I know, clear as mud, right?).

Aw, c'mon, you all don't REALLY need for me to have to enlarge the inset area, do ya????

Ellen
07-15-2010, 05:18 AM

LOVE that cow, Ellen!!

Aw, c'mon, you all don't REALLY need for me to have to enlarge the inset area, do ya????

My FINAL guess is it's the hem of a garment of a depiction of something something living, and it's really HUGE and it's not any sort of arm, leg, foot, finger-y or toe-y part.

Diane, I think it's REALLY clear we have no idea what this is!

Miss Pepper

My FINAL guess is it's the hem of a garment of a depiction of something something living, and it's really HUGE and it's not any sort of arm, leg, foot, finger-y or toe-y part.

I think we've established (thanks to Ellen) that this is a statue; but a statue of WHAT??? Ellen also mentioned earlier which body part was in the inset photo (not any of the body parts mentioned above by Vicki--but that does not mean any of those body parts are not in the FULL photo--they are just not in the inset).

So, to put all of us out of our misery :rofl2:, I can declare Ellen the winner on the guess that it is a statue. Although how she even came up with that by this picture is beyond me--maybe it was the coloring that tipped her off, or she is psychic:rofl2:!

I'm having a blast reading all your replys, cause I know what it is... ha! ha! ha! :rofl2:

Unless, Lella, you REALLY do know what it is and want the glory!!

Hope this wasn't too frustrating for you all (just wanted it to be a 'little' stumper!).

So what's the unanimous vote??

GreenEyedLadyDesigns
07-16-2010, 12:04 PM
Maybe the base of a statue? This is a toughie, Diane! Give us an itty bitty teeny tiny little hint. Please?

Not that I want to quibble, but I guessed a statue back in post 101 .....

But I think Ellen should post a picture next!

I'm psychic with some of that irish blood in me through my maternal grandmother.

wasn't me01The statue you pointed us to with your remark " Vicki veered off ....see post 106 " so Vicki was the one who mentioned statue and we still don't know what it is of :rofl2:

Since no one has posted any more guesses in the last 5 hours, I declare Ellen the winner, (while I was wrong about the statue part, Ellen was the only one who came up with "face") so she can post the next picture! But before I post my full picture, I want to make sure this is okay with everyone, especially Ellen (and possibly Lella may still show up with the correct guess--since she says she KNOWS:rofl2:)!

Ellie

Hey, Ellie!!!
See post above yours--before I post the full picture, I was waiting to make sure my decision was okay with all, especially Ellen, since she has to post the next picture! (And to be fair, in case someone DID come up with the totally correct answer in the meantime!)

Ellen
07-17-2010, 05:45 AM
yes that's o.k. with me Diane if no one comes up with the correct answer in the meantime.

GreenEyedLadyDesigns

Diane

Ok, Ellie's on board so let's get this puppy moving again!! :D

Since Ellen is ok with being next to post a pic, she's the winner! Vicki I assumed you meant Ellen in your post--above--(and not Ellie, as stated above, because coincidentally, Ellie (Designed by Ellie) had also posted before Ellen - LOL!).

Here's the long awaited photo!! It's the statue that is in front of all P.F. Chang's Chinese restaurants (it's a chain--don't know if they are nationwide or not. That's my friend's DH standing by the horse!). So giddyup, horsie!!!!

Ellen
07-17-2010, 12:40 PM
well a cow's lips and nose were not too far off then but whats the alive bit??

never heard of that chain , they must be U.S. based and have not caught up with mac Donalds yet. :)

next picture is.......

I said the statue was a depiction of something that is alive, not that the object in the picture was! See, told you I was not too good at giving hints!!!

never heard of that chain , they must be U.S. based and have not caught up with mac Donalds yet. :)

PF Chang's is a more upscale restaurant (not fast-food), so I guess they don't want to spread themselves out too thin and forego quality:D!

Ellie
07-21-2010, 12:37 PM
Is it something from a railroad track?

GreenEyedLadyDesigns
07-21-2010, 12:58 PM
Maybe it's one of those things you stick your bicycle in to park it?

Ellen
07-21-2010, 04:34 PM
nope but it does have something to do with transport :)

Ellie
07-21-2010, 05:02 PM
One of those things you tie your boat to when you dock?

Ellen
07-22-2010, 10:37 AM
no , it is made of rubber

Diane
07-22-2010, 02:42 PM
Is it a handle on a (steering) wheel of some sort??

Mariah
07-22-2010, 02:55 PM
Is it on a bike? I think I see a bike chain behind it...

GreenEyedLadyDesigns
07-22-2010, 03:01 PM
How about a cleat or rubber spike on a shoe of some sort?

Ellen
07-22-2010, 03:06 PM
Diane you're thinking in the right direction

Diane
07-22-2010, 03:12 PM
Is it the handle of a wheel (or 'spool') that you wind up a rope or something (like pulling up an anchor, for example)?

Ellen
07-23-2010, 06:04 AM
no, no handle

Diane
07-23-2010, 10:39 AM
Is it the handle of a wheel (or 'spool') that you wind up a rope or something (like pulling up an anchor, for example)?

no, no handle

Rather than a handle, how about a PEDAL?

Ellen

sorry, neither

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v472/kentrabay/DSC04225.jpg

I had to bring the picture forward again to try and figure this out (and I thought MY photo was hard:rofl2:)!!

Is it the side of a 'harness' that something like a team of oxen would be attached to?

Ellen
07-24-2010, 05:14 AM
:rofl2::rofl2: serves you right.;)

I like your imagination

another clue .....it's on a round thing

Ellie
07-25-2010, 05:47 PM
Is it a steering wheel on a boat?

Mariah
07-25-2010, 05:49 PM
Is it an axle?

Ellen
07-26-2010, 05:00 AM
no it's made of rubber and on a round thing and has to do with transport

Diane
07-26-2010, 10:32 AM
no it's made of rubber and on a round thing and has to do with transport

Oh, then that means it's some sort of tire--the "rim" being the round thing!!!! (If you tell me I got it, then maybe I can find an even HARDER picture!!!!:rofl2:)

Ellen
07-26-2010, 01:46 PM
nearly there Diane it's part of a tyre , I 'll show the full picture tonight

Ellen
07-27-2010, 01:01 PM
well Diane I reckon you just about got it , it was one of those rubber thingemies that's sticking out

A rabbit's paw?

Diane
07-28-2010, 09:15 AM
OK, I see I was declared the 'winner,' so I have been searching for an even harder pic to guess than Ellen's :rofl2:! Let's see if I found one. Here it is.....what is it???

Ellen
07-28-2010, 09:55 AM
one of those sleeping bonnets grannies used to wear.

Mariah
07-28-2010, 09:58 AM
the edge of some kind of pastry...

NancyP
07-28-2010, 11:32 AM
HAH HAH HAH, I didn't realize I was still back at the very first photo!!!! Now I have to go back and see what I called a rabbit's foot!!!

OH good grief. I called that 'thingy" next to the photo of the car tire, a rabbit's foot. You must have all thought I totally LOST it!!! And you're not FAR from wrong!!!! DUHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Ellen
07-28-2010, 02:26 PM
ah nancy no worries I thought you were guessing that the next item would be a rabbits foot :)

Mariah my first thought was an upside down cupcake so we seemed to be thinking in teh same direction to start of with , then I diverted to bonnets.

Diane

Well, I guess this photo wasn't so hard after all! Mariah was on the right track, but Ellen nailed it with her "first-thought guess" above:rofl2:!!

So it's back to you, Ellen (everyone, be prepared to "rack your brains" again:rofl2:)!!

Diane I have to laugh about that cupcake.. I expected a really difficult one

thanks for stepping in Vicki, yes I was otherwise engaged and had a few rather hectic days. now nearly back to " normal" I hope

uh could that be a pudding mold ?

GreenEyedLadyDesigns
08-03-2010, 10:55 AM
Not a mold of any sort.

Mariah
08-03-2010, 11:18 AM
The cap of a feltpen?

Ellie
08-03-2010, 12:34 PM
I agree with Mariah...it does look like a cap...to something.

GreenEyedLadyDesigns
08-03-2010, 12:38 PM
Creative thinking, Mariah, but no it's not a cap to a felt pen - or a cap to anything for that matter.

KimR.
08-03-2010, 06:25 PM

It's something used outside. How's that for being specific?

As specific as this: "No, it is not used outside."

KimR.
08-03-2010, 07:56 PM
As specific as this: "No, it is not used outside."

Well, it's a the top to a toothpaste tube. Right????

Ellie

hmmm...it's not a cap to something. Is it a bottom to something?

Diane

Hmmm...maybe a "silicone bake cup" for a cupcake (like the one in the picture I posted just before this:rofl2:)!

Am I close??

Mariah
08-03-2010, 11:45 PM
One of those ribbed rings you find at the bottom of a tube and you have to turn them in order to push out the contents ... (like on lipbalm etc.)

athena
08-04-2010, 12:16 AM
Is it a knob to a furnace?

GreenEyedLadyDesigns
08-04-2010, 12:56 AM
No to all the guesses so far, except that Athena is partially correct. It is a knob. It is fairly common. A hint: you'd have to look up to see it.

Ellen
08-04-2010, 07:04 AM
is it a dimmer?

GreenEyedLadyDesigns
08-04-2010, 10:55 AM
Not a dimmer. Gosh I thought this one would be so easy. A couple more guesses and I'll give another clue.

Ellen
08-04-2010, 05:49 PM
is it from a fan?

GreenEyedLadyDesigns
08-04-2010, 06:41 PM
Could you be more specific, Ellen?

Diane
08-05-2010, 12:10 AM
How about a knob from a ceiling fan? (Whether I am right on not, it's still Ellen's turn next ;)!)

Ellen
08-05-2010, 04:14 AM
yes that's what I mean one of those whirlygigs that hang on the ceiling
( we don't need them here in Scotland :)) it never gets that hot.

GreenEyedLadyDesigns
08-05-2010, 10:15 AM
No, its not a knob from a ceiling fan (with or without one of those whirlygigs)! :)

But you are very, very close ...

The first clue was that you need to look up to see it
The second clue is that you'll see it when you travel (which I have just recently done)

Mariah
08-05-2010, 10:18 AM
The little personal fan above your seat in an airplane?

athena
08-05-2010, 11:16 AM

GreenEyedLadyDesigns
08-05-2010, 11:24 AM
The little personal fan above your seat in an airplane?

BINGO!!! Mariah!! You can imagine the puzzled looks on the faces of my fellow passengers on the way back from Seattle last week! Mariah, I stepped in for Ellen while she was gone and promised to go back to her when this round was over, so it's her turn now - hope that's ok with you!

Mariah you guessed it so you post the next one ( in the meantime I'll have a look around to find future objects :rofl2:)

Diane
08-11-2010, 11:36 PM

Ellen
08-12-2010, 04:10 PM

Please bear with me while I find the next picture to guess - I'll try not to take too long!!
