Extremely important message from the den

Today is Saturday 9:33 am September 4 EST. Sometime after 10pm est tonight, the Den will be down for preplanned maintenance. We need to shut it down in order to do what we need to do. Thank you for your patience with this.

The work was completed and the Den didn't have to go down to do it. Does anyone see any problems or things that aren't right now than from before? If so, please let us know here.

In the gallery, I no longer see the sub categories for the challenges. I just see a list of the pages under a b c d e f etc. like you do for the member gallery.

I'm having trouble understanding what you're seeing Robyn. First I see this:

You have to click on Challenge Galleries and then you'll see them.

I can see them in Firefox but no longer in Vista. HELP please.......I don't like using Firefox!!!

I just checked on my other computer that I don't use much. I can see them in XP.....it's Vista that seems to be the problem for me.

Very odd - I don't have a Vista machine, so I can't check. I don't think any changes were made that would affect the coding for the galleries. I assume you've tried clearing the browser cache?

I have found a way to get around it though.
Normally I would just click on challenges and I can see the sub category list. If I now click on galleries I get the snag I just posted, but if I THEN click on Galleries of the Den, I can see the list. It's weird. I don't that to do that extra step in Firefox or XP????

Strange! I use XP and IE, so I'm seeing what I've always seen.

And I use Win7...checked with both IE and Firefox and see the galleries as I should. Robyn....I suspect it is a Vista glitch, though this may be my inherent dislike of Vista speaking. I'm sure you have rebooted, too?

When I go to "My Photos" all the thumbnails are visible and when I click on the thumbnail I go the the gallery where the large image is visible.

When I click on the Challenge Gallery and then onto anyone of the challenges, the older thumbnails are visible but not the ones posted over the past 24/36 hours.

I use XP and my browser is google chrome...when I click on the non existant thumbnail I get a broken image link but allthe comments are there...the couple I checked were recent pages so I clicked the 7days button and the same thing there too.

I just checked my gallery and the sub-categories are fine, but the current thumbnails showing all say "no thumbnail" except for Priss' card and Kim's card. I also looked in one of the designer's galleries and it appears that anything posted on Sept. 5 has "no thumbnail" but the rest are there.
I use Win7 and IE8.

EDIT: Also want to mention that my personal gallery is fine, as I have not yet posted anything in September.

Kim...I see both your card and Priss' card (I'm looking at the Gallery Home page)....but no others. Just place holders saying "no thumbnail". When I go onto individual galleries (as the challenge galleries), then I see thumbs. Hope this helps.....

I only see the "no thumbnail" message on pages uploaded on Sept 4 and 5. When I click on the message, the comments are all there, but no photo at all. My browser is Firefox and OS is Windows 7.

One of my pages was affected and I successfully re-uploaded it and saved the comments.

Ok ladies... here is the nuts and bolts of the situation.

The good news... we are growing rapidly. The bad news... we had to accommodate for this. So the site was moved the night before last. However, we had a glitch and had to redo the move from a backup of the night before. Therefore, we lost a few files. But it was only a few. We lost only what was uploaded between those times.

So if you uploaded a photo into the gallery, it was lost. That's the bad news. The good news is that we didn't lose the comments. This is really an easy fix. Just click on photo options and choose edit photo. Browse on your computer where it was and reupload it. Click save. We're sorry for any inconvenience. Some of you have already replaced your photo/layouts. Thanks.

If you are a designer... If you uploaded a kit yesterday, your files were lost and so were your previews. But your product page is still there. So please re-upload those two and reconnect the file downloads.

Unfortunately, this is part of being an online community. We have to do stuff to accomodate the site and sometimes things are lost in the process. But hey, we all have computers and know what that is like! We are very lucky that we have an awesome web guy who knows his stuff so we didn't lose much at all. Thanks Tim!
