For those who don't know me, I'm from southeastern WI - born and bred - with a little time off in CA and IA - and soon to transplant to FL. (It will be house 13 for us. Yea, we like to move)

Yep, we are in a rental. We sold our house "on a whim" - the next door neighbor, a realtor, was selling her similar house and she sent us 3 "rejects" from her house. The third couple bought our house out from under us. We knew retirement was looming - we knew the house-selling market was awful - we grabbed the opportunity and feel so very fortunate. However, we are living way way out of town - the only rental we could find in December. :eek:

So good to see you are here. My hubby and I have moved a lot too. And we now have our house up for sale, so another move is in the future. But, I'm a 'thinkin - We're getting too old for this!

Amen to that. In the past, my house was all in order in 3 days - all boxes unpacked and even the pictures were on the walls.

Now?

I didn't even bother to decorate the rental even though I know we would live there almost a year. Just too much work.

We purged and purged, (still need to get rid of more) and before we move again, almost all the furniture is going (it's mostly junk over 14 years old.) And luckily, the appliances belong to the landlord - another thing we don't have to move.

This is the first long distance move we will have to pay for. Yikes.

Del Webb in Ocala FL - how cliched, hey. Sometimes it "gives me pause" to say "we are moving to FL."

We are experiencing what I call "FL weather in WI this year" - DH and I keep looking at each other and saying "WOW" - we signed up for 6 months of this type of weather. Yikes.

As for this being our last move? Well, we're already talking about moving on if this doesn't work. LOL

I found my ideal weather. Northern CA - where we lived for four years. But we can't afford to move back there and besides, the State is having way too many "issues."

Passed by AZ because it's too dry for my poor old skin...

Love Nashville, but it's not warm enough in winter ...
